Justin Angle – Host & Creator
Justin Angle is Associate Professor of Marketing and the Poe Family Distinguished Faculty Fellow. He earned his Ph.D. and MBA from the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. He did his undergraduate studies at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Justin’s academic research focuses on how people express their identities through their consumption behaviors. He is particularly interested in the unconscious effects of social and marketing factors on attitude and behavior. Justin’s research has recently been published in Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Consumer Psychology. His work was profiled in UM’s Vision Magazine and has been convered by media outlets such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN, The Washington Post, and Business Insider. Justin is also creator and host of the College of Business podcast, A New Angle.
Prior to his doctoral studies, Justin worked as a bond trader with a specialty in hedging interest rate risk for mortgage banks. After leaving the trading floor, he worked as a collegiate rowing coach at both the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.
When not teaching, doing research, or chasing his two daughters around, Justin is a competitive endurance athlete and field tester for Patagonia.
Nick Mott – Executive Producer
Nick Mott is a reporter and podcast producer based in Montana. His previous productions include the Peabody Award-winning podcast Threshold and the MTPR podcast Richest Hill, which was recognized by the New Yorker as one of the best podcasts of 2019. His work has been published in NPR’s All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and Weekend Edition, The Washington Post, Outside, High Country News, Reveal, PRI’s The World, and other outlets. When he’s not reporting, he’s mostly eating ice cream — but sometimes running around in the mountains, too.
Victor Yvellez – Editor & Producer
Victor Yvellez is a graduate of the University of Montana School of Journalism. He was recently named an Association for Independents in Radio New Voices Scholar and is currently at NPR’s history podcast, Throughline.
Josh Burnham – Digital Editor
Josh Burnham is Montana Public Radio’s Digital Editor. He has his hands on just about everything associated with the station’s digital presence. Josh was awarded “Radio Website of the Year” three times from the Montana Broadcasters Association and won “Best Digital Presence” from the AP Television and Radio Association twice. When not working, he prefers to get as far away from his screens as possible.
Aj Williams
Aj is a rust-belt midwesterner who boomerangs between the West and The Great Lakes. She has a background in documentary production and is a current grad student at the School of Journalism. Aj identifies as a short-legged fast walker, public media addict, pro gear-schlepper and bookworm in-training.
